As usual,I would like to share with all of you one of the topic from strategic management that i have learn several weeks ago. It's about External environment. the environment factors have an influence to economy. a simple acronym to remember for environment factors is PESTEL.
P = Political
E = Economic
S= Social
T = Technology
E = environment
L = Legal
i will give an example about PESTEL :
political :
it's more about the condition. the risk.
economic :
it's more about exchange rate. economic growth,grows domestic product.
social :
demographic factors ; population,size,age,education level.
attitudes toward ; working hours,government,consumerism.
technological :
energy use and cost,change in internet or mobile , intellectual property issues.
environment :
polution target, doing business as an ethical and substainable company, increasing in scarcity of raw material.
legal :
health and safety, equal opportunities, consumer rights and law.
this external factor can identified the opportunities and threats that organization had facing which can match with the others firm competencies to create positive competitive advantages.. this factors clearly can effect their company operations.
that's all from my understanding.
